21st Annual Empty Bowls
BENEFITING THE ARKANSAS FOODBANK
We will celebrate the 21st anniversary of Empty Bowls, chaired by Jordon and Matt Addison, on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Venue at Oakdale in Sherwood.
Our vision is to transport our guests to a summer evening in Sicily. Through bright florals and warm playful colors, citrus fruits infused throughout the food, drinks, and tablespaces, aromas from rich pastas, warm cheeses, dense breads, and beautiful wines, we hope to bring the relaxed, indulgent, luxury of Italy to Arkansas for an evening. We will encourage our guests to play along with our theme by wearing their best easy, breezy, dinner attire that they would imagine wearing when sitting on the patio of a divine Italian Ristorante overlooking the Mediterranean Sea - bright warm colors, florals and fruits, coastal blues, and light linens.
Local chefs will provide an array of Italian signature dishes. With the event venue change, we have more space to allow more guests and to feature unique experiences for them. Interactive pasta bars, sommelier guided wine tastings, mixology stations, and of course the live music, dancing, and the live auction we all love. We want this event to appeal to the “foodie” in all of us, the travel enthusiast in all of us, and the compassion for Arkansas Foodbank’s mission in all of us.
The event will feature a selection of handcrafted bowls created by local artists and local students. This tradition shows the impact of the 280,000 neighbors we serve each and every day that would have empty bowls at the dinner table if it were not for individuals and companies that partner with the Arkansas Foodbank.
Empty Bowls will honor a long-time supporter Jim Cargill, for his dedication to the Foodbank’s mission through Arvest Million Meals.
Just one dollar provides 5 meals to hungry Arkansans. You can make a difference!
