What Happens with Traditional Food Drives?
Why is Money Better?
The Arkansas Foodbank is the foundation in the fight against hunger. We find pathways to connect people, resources and food to reach those in need, providing dignity, hope, and a brighter future for all Arkansans.
I have not known food insecurities, but I have lived with individuals who were food insecure. I saw them struggling, and I tried my best to help them by giving money, buying food, and taking them to local food banks. I volunteered for the Clark County Ecumenical Food Pantry, and it opened my eyes to the number of people needing food in this small county. When I saw families, individuals, and children needing food, I decided from that point on; I would help anyone who is in need.
I have wanted to start a food drive or a fund drive, I just did not know how. Arkansas Foodbank is finally giving me an opportunity to give back to the community, especially if I can get the community itself to aid in this movement.
