One in four children face food insecurity in Arkansas, and in some of our rural counties, that rate is as high as one in three.

Children need nutritious food to grow and thrive, and they need it every day. Unfortunately, over 87,000 children in central and south Arkansas are food insecure, meaning they aren’t sure when or where their next meal will come from.

At the Arkansas Foodbank, we are committed to exploring ways to create seamless access to nutritious food for children who face hunger.

When I started Braden's Bites I thought it was just a way to earn money to go to camp. But as we kept getting more and more orders I wanted a way to thank the people that supported me. So I started donating meals to those in need. And even though it was extra work in the kitchen, it made my heart full to help make someone's day brighter. 

The Arkansas Food Bank is the perfect place to continue that act of giving. I volunteer here with my family and see the hard work that volunteers put in to make sure that Arkansans get the food they need. 

And because they have such awesome volunteers and donors, 94 cents of every dollar donated goes back out the door as food. And for every $1 donated, the food bank is able to provide 5 meals to a person in need.

I hope you'll join me as a Hunger Hero and help the Arkansas Food Bank continue to provide service to 33 counties here in our state.
