Little Miss of Arkansas, Amelia Lisowe, is raising money for 2019 Hunger Heroes

One in four children face food insecurity in Arkansas, and in some of our rural counties, that rate is as high as one in three.

Children need nutritious food to grow and thrive, and they need it every day. Unfortunately, over 87,000 children in central and south Arkansas are food insecure, meaning they aren’t sure when or where their next meal will come from.

At the Arkansas Foodbank, we are committed to exploring ways to create seamless access to nutritious food for children who face hunger.

This year I've worked hard to teach kids that even though we are little we can make a difference through my #SpreadaLittleJoy campaign. One of my favorite places to make a difference is the Arkansas Food Bank. I love getting to volunteer there and it seems like we always do something new to help hungry Arkansans. 

Did you know that 94 cents from each dollar donated to the food bank goes back out as food for 33 counties here in the state? And that for each dollar donated the food bank can provide 5 meals? There is no greater place to make an impact, so I hope you'll join me in my quest to be a Hunger Hero!
