One in four children face food insecurity in Arkansas, and in some of our rural counties, that rate is as high as one in three.

Children need nutritious food to grow and thrive, and they need it every day. Unfortunately, over 87,000 children in central and south Arkansas are food insecure, meaning they aren’t sure when or where their next meal will come from.

At the Arkansas Foodbank, we are committed to exploring ways to create seamless access to nutritious food for children who face hunger.

Dear Family and Friends:

   Hi I am Landon Gaston, and I am a Hunger Hero at the Food bank in Little Rock Arkansas. My goal as a Hunger Hero is to raise five hundred dollars for those who need it the most. And here in my school district one and four children face food insecurity, and one and three Seniors face food insecurity. In case you do not no what food  insecurity is, it is where the child or adult does not no where there next meal is coming from, which absolutely breaks my heart that all of these beautiful and amazing faces haft to go with out any food. Those kids with no food  are the toughest kids out there,and I can bet you that the have the biggest hearts to. So next time you eat your veggies or something that you do not like just think of how happy the kids with no food would be if they were you. So if you want to end food insecurity once and for all, donate now!

P.S And I am just like you, I do not like eating my veggies.
